The Stories Stones Hold

The ancestors of today’s Narragansett people, have been shaping stones for thousands of years, and from that level of thoughtfulness and artistry, their modern descendants demonstrate inherent stone working skills by transforming the trade of masonry into cultural expression. The Stories Stones Hold, with Chrystal Mars Baker, a Tomaquag Museum educator, delves into the masterful and unique Narragansett Native stone artistry with a screening of the film "Stories in Stone” followed by imagery and discussion of the exceptional Narragansett stone masonry imagination, detail, skill and Native pride. *Registration required
