WHO: All ages, all genders, all experience levels welcome. My name is Jayce (they/them) and i am a queer photographer living in Nanaimo.
WHAT: We are going to hangout and if you want some stunning photos of you taken in nature I will snap some pics of you and edit them and get them back to you. IN THE MEANTIME we will hangout as a group, make new friends, and socialize in nature with some snacks and drinks. (Bring what you want, bring some to share if you can. Come empty handed or with everything. You decide. Participate to your desired level. Lots, or a little. You can just come for the hangs too.
WHEN: Saturday evening, August 30, from six to nine. I will be there early to chill and get settled in.
WHERE: on that rocky knob at the northern tip of Neck Point Park. This location is begging to be explored and enjoyed by frolickers galore. The rocks are mean so bring something to sit on if you need!
WHY: BECAUSE WE NEED MORE QUEER HANGOUTS AND I NEED TO PHOTOGRAPH SOME QUEER PEOPLE!
IMPORTANT:
-You don't have to be photographed if you come.
-If you want to be photographed you don't have to know what to do, I will guide you.
-This is Pay What You Can. If you choose to be photographed some form of payment if appreciated. It may take me a few minutes to snap your photos but the real magic happens in the lengthy review and editing process. A single photo can take anywhere from 30 mins to multiple hours (if i'm really sending it and its going to be worth it) plus all the admin of selecting and sending and communicating with you before during and after about everything that goes into it. Im holding space for you to explore yourself and be seen by yourself. It is a job, and I do love it, and knowing that you understand the value of what I am doing and offering if important to me.
WHO AM I?
I am Jayce (they/them). Queer artist, photographer, playful creature. I dance and sing and facilitate around Nanaimo. I moved here from Winnipeg several years ago and have fallen deeply in love with the land here.
