This event will be two days of medium-distance courses held on the June 7-8 weekend. Free moorage for the week at NYC for boats attending the SCYC Lasqueti Island Race the previous weekend. Longer courses for longer boats! Shorter race day on Sunday so you and/or your crew can have an easy delivery home.
SKIPPERS COMMENT
This is a new regatta in 2025 for Strum, with the appeal of these 5 straight weekends of racing,

2. Sat May24 Swiftsure, (VIRS)
3. May31-Jun01 Lasqueti (VIRS)
4. Jun07-08 SIN (VIRS) &
5. Sat Jun14 Round Bowen (VARC)
Logistically, Strum would return to RVYC Jericho after the May17 Round Saltspring Race (Lady Minto Trophy/1st to finish, of 100 registered boats). The following Friday May30, Strum leaves RVYC Jericho for SCYC Lasqueti Regatta at Fairwinds Marina (@25nm). After the Lasqueti Regatta ends 4pm Sunday Jun01, Strum leaves for Nanaimo YC (@15nm) which is offering free moorage to boats registered for the Lasqueti & SIN regattas. Strum crew to ($20) walk/($100) drive onto a BC Ferry or take a ($100) seaplane, returning Fri Jun06 with similar options. Jun07-08 is the SIN (Snake Island Nanaimo) Regatta, hosted by Nanaimo YC. After SIN, Strum returns 4pm Sun Jun08 to RVYC Jericho (@25nm). The next weekend is the Sat Jun14 Round Bowen regatta. A pretty cheap road trip of adventure sailing, with 5 VIRS results (including Patos Island) results!

The Vancouver Island Racing Series is a well organized series of Vancouver Island regattas, which include the 5 Strum events of

If you or someone you know is interested in racing on Strum for the 2025 NYC SIN Regatta, this is where to start. Select GOING if you are available and can commit. Select INTERESTED if you can not commit now, but maybe later. Confirmed crew will appear on this page. This /Event is not mandatory for Strum’s Core-Crew, but might be fun. Crew is restricted to 8 as we have to sleep on board. Select GOING to sign up for a spot before all are assigned.

Strum has 8 Core-Crew positions, as this is the minimum crew needed to race competitively, and the maximum that can sleep on board the 3 double staterooms and 2 single berths. To be considered for Core-Crew, you must commit to all Strum’s events & have a valid Safety At Sea certificate. Core-Crew are guaranteed spots on 8 person regattas (like Salish Sea, Vic-Maui & Trans-Pac) and have first right of refusal for bunks on 10-12 crew away regattas (like Swiftsure & RTC). Apply within.
