Rainbow Rave is our first-ever silent disco, designed for folks who want a fun, low-pressure, and sensory-friendly way to move and connect. Whether you're a big dancer, a gentle swayer, or a curious observer, this all-ages dance party is for you. At check-in, you’ll receive sanitized wireless headphones that let you dial into the DJ’s beats and adjust your own volume. From the outside, it’s a peaceful beach under the night sky. Inside your headphones? Pure Pride dance floor.
What this event is:
This is a new outdoor silent disco taking place on the grassy area at Last Beach at Neck Point Park. Headphones are provided and worn throughout the event. There are no loudspeakers - all sound is experienced individually through the headphones. The space is open and flexible, with no formal program or performances. People may dance, sit, take breaks, or leave and return as they wish.
Accessibility:
Mobility: Beachfront location with grassy and some uneven terrain. See Parking below for details on distances from lots to event space.
Seating: No seating. Attendees are welcome to personal seating if they wish.
Restrooms: 2 accessible, universal washrooms with hard, surface leading to. Please note the restrooms are located in the parking lot, approximately 450m from the event location.
Parking and Transit: There is a 50-stall parking lot located at the entrance to the park, just off Morningside Drive. There are limited accessibility parking spots located over the hill and only 150 meters from the event space. Please email

Other Services: There is a water refilling station and fountain next to the washrooms. There is no interpretation or captioning at this event. There is no sensory support space. No food service available on site.
Safe Space Commitment: This event upholds Nanaimo Pride's Safe Space Directive, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees. Safe Space Crew will be onsite to provide support if needed.
Sensory Notes: Headphones allow for personal volume control, natural outdoor lighting, lots of space to spread out and distance. Outdoor setting - no tents. Potential exposure to varying weather conditions. Limited to 80 people in attendance. Some members of the public may pass by the event.
