Painting Foundations with Amélie Blanchard

6:30 PM - 9 PM, $340 for 8 weeks
If you’re ready to return to painting — or continue building on what you’ve already explored — this 8-week course offers a welcoming next step. Led by artist Amélie Blanchard, it’s designed for first-time painters as well as returning students who want to strengthen their foundations and move a little further with confidence.
Using colour exploration as our entry point, you’ll work through playful, hands-on exercises that invite deeper attention to colour choices, brushwork, and composition. For those who’ve taken the class before, there will be opportunities to refine technique, work with more intention, and expand on familiar ideas while still keeping the process relaxed and experimental.
What you can expect:
🎨 Continued practice in colour mixing, brush handling, composition, and working from reference images
🎨 Explorations of colour relationships, mood, and visual storytelling — with room to push ideas further
🎨 Painting from still life setups and photographs, with added focus on interpretation and personal choices
🎨 A supportive, all-levels environment that encourages curiosity, creative risks, and steady growth
🎨 Demonstrations, guidance, and flexibility for independent exploration at your own pace
