PyCon is coming up 10/17-10/18 so we're celebrating by doing something different! We're hosting a fun filled vibe coding challenge. Participation is totally optional. While the vibe coding challenge is running you'll be able to network with fellow ThaiPy members and PyCon attendees.
If you're looking to learn about AI assisted coding this is a great opportunity to see it first hand and ask questions.
Here's how it the vibe coding challenge will work:
- 3-4 rounds up to 30 minutes each (timing flexible)
- Each round is a coding task (100% completion not expected)
- You win points based on how far your get and/or how your solution compares to other participants
- You lose points for bugs
- Tie breakers based on speed
- Bonus points for impressing the audience
- First place gets choice of 500 baht or a PyCon ticket
- Second place gets the remaining choice
Preview:
- We set up a game server, it's fully documented for you and your AI
- Round 1, build a simple app using the server as a backend
- Rounds 2 and 3, builds off your initial solution
You need to bring:
- Your laptop
- Your favorite AI tool
