Join us as we celebrate the official unveiling of Mystic Seaport Museum’s new Artemis Moon Tree with a series of FREE activities! Enjoy special talks, engaging programs, and hands-on activities—all included with general admission to the Museum.
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Craft Activities (Planetarium Lobby)
Moon Memories – take a small card shaped like the Moon, write down a personal “Moon Memory” and add it to the wall with other Moon Memories in the Planetarium Lobby.
Postcards to Space – fill out a postcard, and we will send it to Blue Origin, have it flown on a New Shepard rocket, have it stamped “this postcard flew into space!” and then it will be mailed back to you!
12:00-12:45 PM – Special Presentation (Planetarium Theater)
Ask Me about the Artemis I Launch! – former students from St. Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven, CT will share their experiences from 2022, when they traveled to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to witness the Artemis I launch in-person.
1:00-1:30 PM – Meet the Moon Tree (Planetarium Steps)
Welcome and remarks about the Moon Tree – remarks to be given by staff from Mystic Seaport Museum and St. Martin de Porres Academy
Unveiling of new permanent signage for the Mystic Seaport Museum’s Artemis Moon Tree
To celebrate the arrival of our Moon Tree, we invite visitors to join today’s afternoon planetarium shows for FREE. Seating begins 15 minutes prior to each show, and space is first come, first served.
2:00-2:30 PM – Summer Stars and the Mariner (Planetarium Theater)
3:00-3:30 PM – Summer Stars and the Mariner (Planetarium Theater)
