To Bead or Not to Bead

Gourd Basket class by Jim Anspach of "Homestead Weaving" in Myerstown.

Basket weaving, including the use of natural materials like gourds, is one of the oldest known crafts, with evidence suggesting its use for food gathering, storage, and transportation of goods.

This is a fairly simple basket a beginner can make. The gourd will be prepared to weave on and supplies provided. Bring a craft apron, an old towel and a chair.

Cost: $50
Maximum of 10Students
