1:45 p.m. Keynote speaker: Dr. Shelley Arnott is Canada's leading expert on the effects of road salt pollution on the animal plankton of lakes, especially on soft-water lakes (like ours in Muskoka). She has both worked extensively in Muskoka and has spearheaded large international collaborations on the effects of salt on lake plankton. Earlier this year, Arnott’s lake research earned her the highest award from the Canadian Society of Aquatic Sciences.
