I-ASIST is a two-day suicide first aid workshop developed in partnership with Indigenous communities. Based on the internationally recognised LivingWorks ASIST program, I-ASIST is culturally adapted to strengthen participants’ skills and confidence in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who may be at risk of suicide.
Workshops are led by experienced Indigenous Trainers and delivered using a mix of presentations, small group learning, practical activities, and videos. The program is based on the LivingWorks Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) model and incorporates the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Framework to ensure a culturally safe and responsive approach. No prior experience or formal training is required—I-ASIST is open to anyone who wants to make a difference in their community.
