Rutherford County Sheriffs Dept. Cadets

The Rutherford County Public Safety Cadets Unit 106 invites you to our Open House on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

The Cadet program is open to high school students age 14 and older. Participants can remain in the program until their 21st birthday.

During the open house, our current Cadet Captain, Zachary Clintsman, will share how the program has helped shape his path from student to volunteer firefighter. He hopes to inspire others who are interested in becoming first responders and explain how the program has equipped him with essential skills to prepare for the job.

Interested students can ask questions, take a tour of the jail and building, and speak with current cadets and mentors about the program.
