Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira- Devotional Music

Saint Kabir and Saint Tukaram come from different regions and follow different paths in spirituality. One focuses on the worship of a deity (Sagun bhakti), while the other finds joy in the formless divine ( Nirgun bhakti). One sees the beauty of lord Vithoba and expresses his philosophy of life, while the other perceives the illusion of the world as a great deceiver, and he also alerts the common man about the hard realities of life.

One stands by the banks of the Indrayani River, while the other by the banks of the Ganges. There are many differences between them, but equally strong is their similarity. Both were engaged in trades—one as a wani( trader) and the other as a weaver. Yet, both had a greater love for spirituality than for their professions. One sees every customer as a form of Vithoba, while the other perceives the essence of the divine in every thread.

Their languages may differ, but their thoughts are the same, filled with a deep longing. Kabir and Tukaram both impart timeless philosophies that resonate with the people. This programme aims to weave together the threads of their teachings through singing their Abhangas and Bhajans, showcasing their ideas.

Jayateerth Mevundi will perform select Abhangwani of Sant Tukaram and Bhuvanesh Komkali will sing select bhajans of Kabir known as Kabirwani, while Dr. Dhanashree Lele will interact as the Content narrator with the august audience present. This event has been conceptualized by Mr. Shashi Vyas, the Founder Director of Pancham Nishad.

The said event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 25th September 2025, 6.30 pm onwards at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
