The Art of Jazz Improvisation

The cornerstone of jazz performance is the aspect of on-the-spot improvisation. The jazz "jam session" best exemplifies this. The on-the-spot playing separates jazz music from any other genre and the skill of the musicians defines the quality of the performance.

For this reason, jazz is often called "The Sound of Surprise".

In this session, Sunil Sampat will talk about and demonstrate some brilliant live and studio jazz pieces via video and audio recordings.
