EchoBox Art: A Talking Sculpture Workshop

Unleash your creativity and add your own voice to your art. In this workshop, you’ll sculpt with colorful air-dry clay and pair it with simple voice-recording technology. The result is a one-of-a-kind talking sculpture that blends hands-on craft with a personal touch — imagine a Ganesha idol blessing your home, a puppy barking “Woof, come play with me!”, or a cartoon alien greeting you with a cosmic hello.

The Workshop: You’ll begin by sculpting a 4–5 inch figure or design of your choice using air-dry clay, guided by your host or inspired by references. It could be festive (like a Ganesha idol), playful (like a cartoon alien or puppy), or personal (like a heart, rocket, or emoji face). Once your creation is ready, you’ll assemble a compact voice recording module with USB power and speaker. Record up to 10 seconds of your message — for example: “Happy Diwali! May Ganesha bless you always”, “Woof woof! I’m your puppy friend, let’s play!”, or “Greetings, Earthling! I come from Planet Zog to be your friend.” Finally, the electronics will be neatly packed into a circular base box with a simple switch to play your recording, and your clay sculpture will be mounted proudly on top.

The Creation: You’ll take home your very own EchoBox Art — a custom air-dry clay sculpture that not only shows your artistry but also carries your unique voice within it. The workshop price includes all materials: air-dry clay, paints, USB-powered recording module, speaker, switch, base box, and tools.
