Annual Shark Tooth Gig Contest

Join us for the annual "Shark Tooth Dig Contest" as part of the museum's "Shark Week Comes Ashore" celebration at the Mulberry Phosphate Museum! Beginning at 8:30 a.m., registration opens in the Fossil Gallery. At 9:00 a.m., dig into the fossil pile with fellow shark enthusiasts and race against the clock to uncover as many shark teeth as you can in one hour! Participants compete in two categories—youth and adult—with free admission to enter.

Each participant digs in the designated area.
The person(s) who finds the most shark teeth in one hour in their category wins a prize.
All teeth will be returned to participants to keep after counting.
Winners will be announced both on-site and through the Museum's social media outlets.

Pro Tips for Participants:
Bring sunscreen and hydration—July in Florida is hot!
A towel or mat can be helpful for sitting on, as the pile may be damp.
