Trikaya is a genre-defying musical trio that bridges the musical traditions of India and West Africa to create a sound that is both deeply rooted and strikingly contemporary. The trio brings together the deeply expressive tones of the Bansuri, the soulful, harp-like resonance of the Ngoni, and the dynamic, intricate rhythms of the Calabash. At the heart of Trikaya’s music lies a commitment to honoring the sacred lineages of each instrument while reimagining them in a modern context. Drawing from the melodic richness of Indian ragas and the intricate rhythm of West African grooves, their compositions move fluidly between meditative soundscapes, improvisational dialogues, and high-energy rhythmic interplay. The name Trikaya, a Sanskrit term meaning "three bodies," reflects the trio’s deep spiritual and musical synergy.
Band members:
