Losing someone to suicide can leave us in a world that no longer feels familiar, filled with unanswered questions, deep sorrow, and the ache of what will never be. After the Unthinkable offers a compassionate, drop-in space for those navigating this unique and often isolating kind of grief.
This drop-in group follows a lightly structured format rooted in the companioning principles of Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s Understanding Your Grief and The Ten Touchstones of Grief. Each gathering includes a short reflection or reading, followed by guided and open discussion that allows participants to share, listen, and connect at their own pace.
The groups meet for 10 weekly sessions. There will be an undetermined break before the next 10 sessions begin.
New members must complete a 60-minute compatability call with the facilitator before attending their first meeting. After that, they can drop-in when they are up to it.
Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, you are welcome here. Together, we honor the lives of those we’ve lost while finding steady footing in a world forever changed, learning to move forward with compassion, understanding, and hope.
