Hear light-hearted acoustic versions of the best holiday songs, played in an intimate setting by a top-notch band of Alabama artists! From a hot jazz jam session on “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” to a soaring flute rendition of “O Holy Night”, from a sly vocal take on “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” to twin mandolins on "Deck the Halls", this may be your favorite holiday concert of the year! It's the 11th Almost-Annual "Sam Pointer's Acoustic Christmas" concert, a Birmingham tradition.
Tickets: $20 at the door, cash preferred. (Check or Venmo also accepted.) Thursday, Dec. 11, 7:30 p.m (doors open 7:00 p.m.) at O'Neal Library, Mountain Brook, AL.
Award-winning entertainer Sam Pointer leads the way on vocals, acoustic guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, and banjo. Sam has performed and/or recorded with Black Jacket Symphony, Grammy winners The Temptations, New Potato Caboose, and many more. The band also includes Jason Bailey on mandolin (5 solo CDs), Roy Yarbrough on bass (Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame member), and Sallie White on flute (played with Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, etc.). Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see these four Alabama stalwarts on the same stage! All ages.
