Meaning of a Rites of Passage?
A Rites of Passage can be a ceremony that marks an important stage in our lives. In the days where our communities thrived as a closer unit, these changes that an individual experienced were acknowledged and held by the village.
This grief rites of passage is to honour loss and change in our lives whether it be a maiden moving into a mother, a loss of a loved one, marriage ending, menopause, retirement or the need for a purification to honour what was.
Grief can be an intense process that we mostly suffer alone in our own solitary cocoon. This process can see physical and mental strain as we access the realms in ways we have never before. We traverse through the underworld naked finding our way, finding parts of ourselves which were once deemed lost. courageous path that can be painful as our old skin is left behind and the new doesn't fit right just yet.
In creating intimacy in community to witness our emerging, our honouring alongside the elements of nature, we create gratitude and honour to the elements of Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Spirit in our remembering.
This day will be open to an intimate number as we take the path of birth, death and rebirth together.
To book a place for this day incorporating ceremony, art and reverence to self and the five elements in honouring our grief please feel free to book a spot through myself.
