~~~ WHAT ~~~
𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑮𝒆𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒚 is a series of 8 drawing workshops, each focused on a different geometric design, such as the Vesica Piscis, the Fractal Pentagram, the Flower of Life, and the Golden Spiral.
In each one-hour workshop, you’ll be taught how to use drawing tools (a compass and straight edge) to construct a geometric sketch. Then, you'll be given time to color and personalize your drawing according to your own intuitive creativity, while the teacher provides examples of that geometric pattern found in nature and culture.

Hosted by the vibrant and cozy tea salon Bien Vivre (metro Fabre / Beaubien), participants will be treated to good vibes and a complementary beverage (mocktail, smoothie, iced tea, or drink of the day).
Other goodies will be available for purchase, including homemade food, local artisanal products, houseplants, and a "Creative Geometry" zine!

Every week, in October and November, a different drawing tutorial will be offered, bringing with it different themes to reflect upon.

~~~ WHY ~~~
Creative Geometry is an integrative and empowering tool for understanding the structure of the universe.
Geometry describes the fundamental laws that govern creative energy and harmonious growth. These laws manifest as geometric patterns, templates or blueprints that can produce an infinite variety of creative outcomes; examples of which appear repeatedly in nature and in art.
To wield this creative power, and construct these geometric blueprints yourself, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙝. No measurements or calculations... All you need is a pencil, paper, compass, and straight edge.
Once you know the basic steps, you’ll see these geometric patterns start to draw themselves. This unlocks your creative problem-solving, as you literally 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 (material and abstract, conscious and subconscious).
When you engage with these geometric laws in a creative way, you simultaneously activate your 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 (logic, intellect, analytical reasoning) and your 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 (imagination, intuition, abstract understanding).
Geometric principles can be applied to visual art, music, dance, design, architecture, graphic design, computer science, chemistry, biology, physics, and more...

Who is this workshop for?
- No experience in art or mathematics required!
- Anyone with the dexterity to use with a circle-compass, and the maturity to use it safely (being careful with its sharp point).
- All faiths / beliefs and identities are welcome.
Who will be teaching?
Celine Cardineau (𝒘𝒘𝒘.𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒖.𝒂𝒓𝒕) is a professional fine artist based in Montreal. Her surrealist paintings blend the mystical and the scholarly - intellect and intuition. With 15 years of technical training in visual art, Celine has taught drawing and painting to children and adults alike. She believes creativity is a sacred form of expression, and wants to empower the Creator in you.
