Quincy Lecture Series: The Anglophone Crisis - Inside Cameroon's Lingering Conflict

Quincy House presents the first in an upcoming series of lectures.
Join us for a talk by Fr. Francline Javlon Banadzem, a doctoral student at the Catholic University of America, on the Anglophone Problem, one of Central Africa's most enduring crises, dating back to the nation's independence in the early 1960s.
Drawing from his personal experience as a priest of the Anglophone Diocese of Kumbu, Father will explore the complex interplay of colonial legacies, regional identity, and religious leadership in a conflict that has claimed thousands of lives and displaced hundreds of thousands. The lecture will also examine how faith communities—particularly the Catholic Church—have responded to violence and political marginalization, and what moral, diplomatic, and humanitarian frameworks might offer paths toward peace.

Doors open at 7PM and the lecture will begin at 7:30
