Beginning Bookmaking: Chainstitched Travel Journals

In this hands-on beginner workshop, you’ll learn how to make a simple yet sturdy journal using the elegant chainstitch binding method—no glue or staples required. This exposed spine technique is both beautiful and functional, perfect for creating a flat-laying notebook ready to capture your adventures, ideas, and sketches.

We’ll guide you step-by-step through folding, piercing, and stitching your journal using colorful thread and quality papers. By the end of class, you’ll have a handcrafted travel journal ready to take on the road—or just to your favorite coffee shop.

All materials are provided, and no prior bookmaking experience is necessary.
