About the event

Pergola Build: Carpentry Fundamentals
Come and learn the basics of carpentry through the hands-on construction of a garden pergola in the Mt. Carmel Community Garden!

This class will cover essential skills including measuring, cutting, layout, and safe tool use, while guiding students through reading plans, setting posts, and assembling structural framing. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to build their confidence with wood construction. This build is especially meaningful as it takes place at our local community garden, where the finished pergola will serve as a gathering space for neighbors and future programming—leaving a lasting impact while you learn.

This event is open to adults and teens with a supervising/paying adult.
