Tuesday 26th to Sunday 31st August we will be having a planting blitz in various areas of Playles Hill Park, in Corryong. We will be planting approx. 1,000 native tube stock plants, and 100 Banksia canei (The local banksia that became extinct in the 2020 Black Summer bushfires).
If you have a spare couple of hours, or days, to lend a hand that would be greatly appreciated.
The planting areas in the Park vary; some areas are steep and rocky. Please wear suitable clothing and good footwear. Bring gloves, hat, water bottle, hot drink and morning tea / lunch food. Some tools will be supplied, however if you can bring some that would be great. Useful tools include mattocks, planting mattocks, shovels, rakes, mallets, buckets.
Tasks on these days will include digging (into hard granitic rocky soil), planting, protecting plants with guards, hammering in stakes, mulching and watering.
