Match Made in Charleston

We are taking the singles' party out to the Charleston Harbor!

Join us on The Palmetto Breeze on Tuesday, May 13th for the premier dating event in Charleston for ages 25-40. Prior to the event or upon arrival, guests will fill out a quick survey, developed by psychologists, about what is important to them and in a potential partner.

Matching will be powered by Matchbox. It’s a software that uses relationship science to find your most compatible match at the party. It’s also the same technology behind the Marriage Pact, tradition at 100+ universities that's matched more than half a million people to date.

Please make sure to fill out the survey prior to arrival or upon boarding. Surveys must be submitted by 6:45pm (no exceptions) for the algorithm to work its magic!

How it works:

• You’ll take a matching questionnaire built by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists.
• The Matchbox algorithm will identify your optimal matches (up to 3) at the party, based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics.
• After mingling with the whole group, matches are revealed!

*We aim to maintain a 50/50 male to female ratio but cannot guarantee that all attendees will show up, as life happens. If there is an uneven split, some matches will be paired platonically.

Who it’s for:

• The matching process is highly intentional—come with an open mind!
• If your match isn’t love at first sight, that’s okay! The algorithm is designed for long-term compatibility, so at baseline you’ll be values-aligned.
• At the end of the day, this will be a great group of single people. Enjoy meeting everyone and remember to be kind.
• Recommended for ages between 25-40.

Event Structure:

• This event is highly intentional and the matching will proceed on schedule. Please be on time.
• 6:00pm—You can begin to board the boat, bar is open.
• 6:30pm—Boarding closes and the boat departs. Guests must board on time or will be left ashore.
• 6:45pm — All surveys must be completed by this time. The Algorithm begins computing matches.
• 7:15pm—You will receive a clue about your matches.
• 7:25—Your first match is revealed.
• 7:55pm—Your second match is revealed.
• 8:25pm—Your third match is revealed.
• 9:30pm—Return to dock, event concludes.
