Join us as we celebrate Beltane, also known as May Day! We will celebrate by dancing around the Maypole.
Beltane is a Celtic fire festival marking the halfway point between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It is a time to celebrate life! We use this day to manifest energy for our passions, abundance and joy. We release that which no longer serves us.
The name Beltane comes from the Scottish Gaelic term "Bealltainn" which roughly translates to "May." This word comes from the root "Bhel", meaning "to shine, flash, or burn".
Traditionally Beltane bonfires are lit and contain the wood from apple, birch, grapevine, hawthorn, hazel, oak, rowan, and willow. These fires have been used for ritual, community, and luck. We will manifest all of these things this night!
We will build a Beltane altar and invite all to share in adding items to the altar. See below for prompts and suggestions!
