KPAC presents THE PRODUCERS as part of our Cinema Classics series, featuring films chosen by our Classic Films Committee. Broadway producer Max Bialystock and his accountant Leo Bloom plan to oversell a show to wealthy old women, then stage a guaranteed flop in the form of a tasteless musical about Hitler so no one asks for their money back. A hilarious satire of the business side of Hollywood, The Producers is one of Mel Brooks’ finest, as well as funniest films, featuring standout performances by Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel.
