Join Us for Juneteenth in Friendship Square – June 19, 2025
Presented by the Pull-Mo Juneteenth Coalition, this celebration is a labor of love—honoring resilience, hope, and the ongoing fight for freedom. Juneteenth marks the moment on June 19, 1865, when more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas were finally declared free—two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a reminder that freedom is a journey, not a singular event.
On this day, we celebrate Black joy, strength, and community, recognizing the deep history that brought us here and the continued work toward justice and equality.
We invite you to gather in unity, share in tradition, and uplift voices through an afternoon filled with music, movement, and expression. Enjoy free food (while supplies last), a DJ, live entertainment, line dancing, a drum circle, spoken word performances, and pottery wheels open for all to explore creativity.
This event is proudly sponsored by Palouse EDJE, the Universalist Unitarian Church, and Terracotta, Latah County Human Rights Task Force, Washington State University Multicultural Student Center/African American Student Center and Crimson Ties-organizations committed to equity and inclusivity.
Come as you are, bring your energy, and celebrate freedom with us.
