MPAC’s 11th Annual Spring Production: Newsies

Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action as all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”

MPAC’s production of Newsies will feature a dynamic cast of several dozen young performers.

MPAC Spring Musical Productions present a unique opportunity for young performers to participate in a fully professional production in which they work with a professional crew and guest Equity artists.

The Sunday, June 1st 12PM performance of Newsies will be sensory-friendly. Sensory-friendly performances have been designed to create a supportive, welcoming experience for people with sensory sensitivities.
