We’ll kick off the morning with Yoga on the Rocks, a breathtaking outdoor class set against the majestic sandstone formations of the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Following the session, enjoy a guided hike on the Trading Post Trail, a 1.5-mile scenic loop that showcases the unique geology and vibrant landscape of Red Rocks Park.

🧘‍♀️ Yoga on the Rocks session: 7:00–8:00 a.m.

🥾 Trading Post Trail hike: approximately 8:15–9:45 a.m..

🍎 Light snacks will be provided

🕚 Depart Red Rocks at 10:00 a.m. and return to the Gaylord around 11:00 a.m.

What to Bring:

  • Yoga mat or towel (limited mats may be available to rent or borrow on-site)
  • Sturdy, comfortable shoes with good traction for hiking - Please do not wear flip-flops, sandals not designed for hiking, or smooth-soled shoes. The trail includes uneven terrain, loose gravel, and moderate elevation changes — proper footwear is essential for your safety and comfort.
  • A reusable water bottle - We will have a limited number of plastic water bottles available, but we recommend bringing your own reusable water bottle with at least 1 liter or 32 ounces of water and filling your bottle with water ahead of time. There are stations to refill your water at the venue, but lines may be long and you will need a full water bottle at the start of the hike.
  • Layers for changing morning temperatures - Dress in comfortable, flexible layers you can easily remove or stash as the day warms up. It can be 45°F at 6 a.m. and jump to 70°F by 9 or 10 a.m., especially with sun exposure. Recommended: a lightweight, moisture-wicking base layer such as a t-shirt or long-sleeve (avoid cotton, which can trap sweat and get chilly); a mid-layer such as a light fleece, sweatshirt, or performance pullover to keep warm in the early morning hours; an outer layer such as a packable windbreaker or lightweight rain jacket to protect against wind or unexpected rain. Optional: A beanie for early morning warmth and a hat and sunglasses for after sunrise, plus gloves if temps are especially cool and you tend to run cold.
  • Rain jacket (in case of unpredictable mountain weather)
  • Any necessary medicines, prescriptions, and/or assistive devices - We will have a basic first aid kit, but if there is anything specific you require, please be sure to bring it with you and inform your guide(s) of any conditions of concern and the placement of any necessary items in your bag or on your person before we begin the hike. Examples: asthma inhaler, EpiPen, insulin, glucose tablets, walking stick or trekking poles, knee and ankle braces.
  • Optional: Additional light snacks - We will provide light fruit and granola bars, but feel free to bring your own snacks as well if there is something you know you like. Protein/energy bars, trail mix, nut butter packets, apples, pretzels, roasted chickpeas, dark chocolate squares are all great snacks for hiking.

Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just looking to stretch and breathe in some gorgeous mountain air, this unique experience offers a perfect blend of mindfulness and movement. Yoga on the Rocks is a sold-out event and space for our conference attendees is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early!
