Curious about herbalism and ready to start crafting your own home apothecary? Join us for a hands-on introduction to the world of medicinal herbs with herbalist, farmer, and educator AC Stauble-Hill of Traveling Herb Farmer.
In this workshop, AC will guide participants through the basics of home herbalism, including how to work with herbs to make supportive and nourishing remedies. This is a beginner-friendly, interactive class designed to empower you to start working with herbs right away, especially the abundant wild medicinal plants that we can find in our community or accessible plants we can purchase from most grocery stores. Together, we'll make a simple tea, a nourishing infusion, and a decoction of roots, medicinal mushrooms and herbs. You'll leave with some recipes of some of AC's favorite tea blends for mood uplifting, sleep, the lungs and more.
In addition to teas we'll cover a few different herbal extraction methods including tinctures, glycerites, oxymels and herbal syrup. We'll be concocting a syrup in class which you'll take home a bottle of, along with the confidence to keep experimenting on your own.
AC has been growing and working with herbs for over a decade, while farming, traveling and building a homestead and herb farm in West Edmeston, NY. She shares her knowledge through her herbal business, her podcast Plant Cunning, and her new herbal school, Actaea Academy. You can learn more about her work at TravelingHerbFarmer.com.
