About the author:
David Stogdill is a seasoned performer with a nineteen-year tenure in the mascot industry. His career spans various arenas, starting in the collegiate ranks at Washington State University, moving through the Arena Football League and then to the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers. David also ventured into Professional Baseball in Japan with the Hiroshima Carp, and the NBA with the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets. He has showcased his talents at the Rose Bowl, numerous NFL Pro Bowls, NBA All Star Games, the French Professional Basketball All Star Game, and the Super Bowl. His performances have taken him across the globe including Japan, China, The Philippines, France, Mexico, and Canada.
Although he has retired from the spotlight and “hung up the furr”, his passion for performance and advocacy for literacy remain strong. A former educator, he has dedicated his career to promoting literacy and is the author of six custom mascot children’s books, as well as published a children’s book and memoir about his mascot career. David has a daughter who lives in LA as an actress and he currently resides in Cornelius, North Carolina, with his beloved wife, and 3 dogs.
