Shavano Petroglyph Tours!

Located just outside of Montrose, Colorado, Shavano Valley is one of the most picturesque and important rock art sites in western Colorado. The site was used from at least 1000 BCE to 1900 CE by both the Archaic and Ute peoples.
Through the Ute Indian Museum, tours are offered and led by our trained Shavano Valley Petroglyph Docent.
Participants should dress for the weather. Moderate graded hike. Sturdy shoes or boots are ideal for the rough trail and steep slopes. Headlamps or flashlights may come in handy.
If you are interested and would like to reserve a spot, please contact the Ute Indian Museum, as we would be more than happy to assist you in booking your tour. Payment is REQUIRED in advance and space is limited.
