Come and join us for our last lodge of the year, as we call for compassion - within ourselves, with the people we interact with and of course in the wider world.
The Temescal, sweat lodge, is an ancient purification and healing ceremony. Rocks are heated in the fire and brought into the lodge where water and herbs are placed on them. In the darkness we, have the opportunity to share our intentions, prayers, songs, tears and laughter. With each lodge we sit with a specific purpose.
I feel blessed and honoured to carry this design and altar gifted to me with the blessings of Medicine Woman Carmen Vicente of Ecuador, after completing my 4 vision quests and spending 15 years under the mentorship of Wisdom Keeper, Claire Barraclough. We are blessed to hold the lodge on our very special land in Carmarthen.
We will gather at 10am on Saturday morning for an opening circle. We will then work together to create the ceremonial space and aim to light the fire by 1pm. It is good to be with us from 10am to fully benefit from the day, but it is also fine if you are not able to arrive any time up until 1pm.
You are very welcome to camp, or bring your LIV, on Friday and Saturday night and this is a lovely way to integrate deeper with the group.
We request a contribution of £50 towards the costs of raising and running the lodge. Cash is always welcome as there are financial costs to creating the space, however I am completely open to alternative exchanges by prior arrangement for anyone who may find this challenging. Finance never needs to be a barrier to joining the ceremony.
