Dear Friends and Community, On March 25, 2025, our beloved Mark Svatek—a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend— was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. Since that life-altering day, our world has
been turned upside down. As a family, we've embarked on a difficult and emotional journey filled with doctor visits, endless tests, and constant uncertainty. We've traveled to Chicago, Sycamore, and Aurora in search of second and third opinions, determined to find the best treatment path. After much prayer and consideration, we chose a plan involving immunotherapy in Aurora, with oversight from a
specialized team in Chicago. But just as treatment was about to begin—on May 23, two months after Mark's diagnosis—we received devastating news. An abnormal echocardiogram uncovered a potential issue with
Mark's heart, delaying his immunotherapy. Then, on May 29, we were hit again: Mark's heart was showing signs of failure. More cardiology visits followed-this time to Naperville-along with new medications and an urgent need for answers. Mark is now scheduled for an angiogram on June 25, which we hope will bring clarity
and a new way forward. None of us ever expects to hear such heartbreaking news about the people we love. But even in the midst of setbacks and sorrow, Mark has shown tremendous strength and resilience. We
stand beside him, united in our commitment to face this battle with hope, courage, and love. Mark is the Vice President of the Dedicated Sons LEMC - Fox River (Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club)—a brotherhood made up of active and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, veterans, and the sons of these dedicated public servants. Through his involvement with the club, Mark has remained deeply committed to charitable giving and community service, participating in countless benefit rides, fundraising events, and outreach efforts. The
Dedicated Sons LEMC isn't just about motorcycles-it's about honor, loyalty, and giving back. Mark's role in this group reflects who he is at his core: a man driven by purpose, compassion, and the desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Now, in this difficult time, we have the chance to return that support and stand by someone who has spent so much of his
life standing up for others.
