Nature always offers us a great lesson in the cyclical nature of life, the passage through darkness that precedes a return to the light. By using dance as our main form of expression, we honor the nature of which we are a part.
Dance reveals the magic of life, an uninterrupted flow of energy to which we belong. As we allow it to flow, it surprises us at every moment.
As all living beings and all things, we are connected to the earth and to the sky and in this way we are intertwined with everything. Feeling part of “the whole” and awakening our inner movement in a free and authentic way, seeking the truth of the instant, embrace the enchantment, the magic, harmonizing our breath with the breath of nature.
By delving into the potentialities of the body and opening ourselves to the nuances of our inner state, we step into a realm where emotions are born, transformations occur, and the movement transforms into dance. Imagination becomes a potent ally in our explorations. Finding a dance in continuous dialogue between inside and outside, the body and the surrounding space, and the inner landscape and outside nature. Through the dance, we speak our truth.
Butoh is a dance of transformation, a deep work on personal identity, to find your own deep authentic and original being, until to dissolve it, feeling part of a "whole", to simply become a flow of energy, a substance in motion continually undergoing transformation. This dance arise from a strong inner desire to delve into the depth, seeking the truth of the inner and ancestral body, to connect with sacred.
The Butoh practice Maruska Ronchi offers in this workshop is part of JINEN butoh by Atsushi Takenouchi, her great and beloved master, with whom she has shared a 14-years journey. To him she owe her encounter with butoh and the initiation of a significant transformation in her dance and in her life. She skillfully and passionately convey the magic of this wonderful and powerful art form, enriching the practice with her extensive knowledge of the body, her vast experience in the dance world, and her personal artistic and pedagogic research. She will accompanyusin an extraordinary and unique journey,to discover our unique personal dance,sharing the fascination of Butoh.

This is an intensive and immersive workshop open to all levels. It’s not necessary to have previous butoh experience, but it’s recommended to have good motivation, good attitude to movement, and good attitude to stay in a group.
We will practice around 7 hours per day (33 hours in 6 days). These six days are dedicated to ourselves, finding time and space, starting a process of knowledge of ourselves, of our deepest and authentic being. An healing process, through body work, healthy food, dance in the nature (in the forest and to the river), ritual performances, that allow us to express our spiritual connection with the Nature, leading to care and respect.
