Intro to Flat Water Kayaking

Join our instructor, Ian Stewart, for an afternoon of skills and drills. We will teach you what you need to know for a safe, fun day kayaking. Topics will include, paddling terminology, trip planning, boat loading/unloading, strokes and concepts, self rescue techniques, and water stewardship. A kayak, PFD (lifejacket), and paddle are provided during the course or you can bring your own. Our class will start at The Outpost at Meadow Creek Park and will run from 1-4pm. This course will be both on and off water. You will need to bring cloths and shoes you are comfortable getting wet. Minimum age to participate is 16. Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver
