An Iliad

New Canon Theatre Co. is thrilled to launch our season with AN ILIAD at California's First Theatre—the first full production in this historic space since 1999. We are proud to partner with Monterey State Historic Park to bring this landmark performance to life.

A spellbinding reimagining of Homer’s Iliad, this gripping retelling bridges ancient myth and modern reality, capturing both the sweeping heroism and the devastating horrors of war in a way that resonates powerfully today.

Directed by NCTC Associate Artistic Director Noah Lucé and starring acclaimed actor Patty Gallagher (Santa Cruz Shakespeare Festival) and featuring live music by violinist Samantha Bounkeua (The Rogue Violinist), AN ILIAD is an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Preview: Thursday, May 15th
Full Run: Friday, May 16th-Sunday May 25th, Thursday-Sunday.
Performance times: Thursday-Saturday, 7:30PM; Sunday, 2:00PM
Due to themes of violence, AN ILIAD is recommended for audiences aged 10+.

AN ILIAD has a running time of 90 minutes with no intermission.
