History in the Making

PEI’s Poet Laureate Tanya Davis hosts ‘History in the Making’ in the heart of the Historic Orwell Village. A writer, poet, and songwriter, Tanya is a true multi-faceted creative who has appeared at folk festivals and events from Australia to home. Trad duo Gammons and Knorr were each raised in the traditional music scenes of Western Canada and have followed their passions to Prince Edward Island. Guitarist Tom Gammons, one third of Inn Echo, along with Ray Knorr on fiddle, take inspiration from Métis, Québécois, Acadian, Old Time and Scottish styles, releasing their debut EP in April 2025. Returning to PEI after winning hearts at last year's festival is JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter Kellie Loder. This Newfoundland powerhouse’s career catapulted after being the runner up on Canada’s Got Talent. The 2023 ECMA Songwriter of the Year has appeared at festivals across Europe, North America, and Australia.
