LOTS OF LAUGHTER IN ROSS-ON-WYE
Following the launch in September, Funhouse Comedy Club brings another night full of laughter to The Corn Exchange, Ross-on-Wye on Friday October 17th.
Topping the bill is the animated Sean Heydon, one of the country's premier comedy magicians, who has appeared on various TV shows, including Britain’s Got Talent where he got a unanimous 4 yesses from the judges and Channel 4's Paul O’Grady Show, as the resident illusionist. With his unique style, he captivates the crowds, often receiving standing ovations.
Opening the night will be Jules O’Brian, shortlisted for Funny Women, she enjoys telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang-ups, parenting, and dating all done with a twinkle in her eye.
Completing the line-up is comedian and script writer Sean Percival. His brand of comedy steers clear of the surreal and confronts realism in an explosively funny way. His down to earth act is unforgettable with its upfront attitude, no long stories, just gags galore.
Compere for the night will be Dan Thomas, who has supported Russell Kane on tour. This forceful and energetic Welsh funnyman delivers his observational jokes with skill and a rare sense of wistfulness.
Jules O’Brian began performing in 2017 at The Comedy Loft in Birmingham for charity. Inspired by comedians like Rik Mayall and Joan Rivers, she describes her style as “Butter wouldn’t melt meets Is That All There Is?” An English tutor from Tamworth, Staffordshire, she performed a sell-out show with Tal Davis and Hannah Weetman during the 2021 Birmingham Comedy Festival. Jules was shortlisted for Funny Women 2021 and performs nationally, sharing insights on aging, body image, parenting, and dating. She is TalkTalk’s official voice, selected by Bernard Cribbins, and her writing appears in magazines like Prima and MamaLife. Her relaxed style, audience interaction, and sardonic wit make her a crowd favorite.
Sean Percival Sean appears regularly at all the top comedy clubs in the UK. He has ‘headlined’ the Glee Clubs, the Comedy Stores, the Komedias, the Stands, the last Laugh, Funhouse and the JTT Comedy Lofts. He’s performed in comedy tents at the Glastonbury, Reading, Download and Bearded Theory festivals amongst others.
Dan Thomas is not only known for his award winning stand up comedy but he is also hotly in demand as a warm up artist for several TV shows, including Channel 4’s Deal Or No Deal. He has also appeared on ITV’s Houseguest and BBC Wales Funny Business.
