Kudzu Kings LIVE at Brickyard

KUDZU KINGS (kud-zoo kingz) (Reges pueraria sollemnitas) have been on a musical crusade since1994, playing at festivals and music venues in the Southeast and beyond with their diverse catalogueof original music and decidedly waggish banter. These good-time botanical royalists gained earlypopularity playing the jamband circuit. However, the majority of their songs are in a more traditionalvein: true stories about life in the South, in a style they describe as “funktry (see excerpt in the book“Jambands: the Complete Guide to the Players, Music, & Scene” by Dean Budnick ). Over the years,Kudzu Kings have shared the stage with the likes of Widespread Panic, Black Crowes, Chris Stapleton,Larkin Poe, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Weir/Wasserman, Oteil & Friends, Leftover Salmon, Jimmie DaleGilmore, and Junior Brown, just to name a few. In 2020, the band was honored with an exhibit andliving e-archive in the University of Mississippi Blues Archive.Although the band has had personnel changes over the past thirty years, the original lineup hasbeen reunited and play together for the last decade: Tate Moore (vocals, acoustic guitar), RobertChaffe (keyboards), “Kudzu” Dave Woolworth (vocals, bass), Max Williams (vocals, lead guitar),Chuck Sigler (drums), and George McConnell (vocals, rhythm, and lead guitars; also, formerly ofBeanland and Widespread Panic).With two live releases in 2023 and 2020 that include previously undistributed material, the bandcontinues to write and play new songs live and collaborate with other projects. The band has soldover 10,000 units each of their first two albums (1996’s Kudzu Kings and 1999’s Y2Kow), and fanscontinue to post and trade live shows online.
