Join the curators at the History Museum of Mobile for a behind-the-scenes look at our collection! See inside the vault and learn how curators care for more than 117,000 objects.
The theme for this month's tour is Women's History. Our curators will focus on the contributions of women throughout Mobile history. Visitors will have the chance to see textiles, artwork, and more that highlight the importance women have played in Mobile from the very start, including items from notable women such as Augusta Evans Wilson, Madame Octavia LeVert, Alexis Herman, Barbara Ann Taylor Guthans, Louise Lyons Heustis, Mary McNeil Fenollosa, Joann Wheelis, Yolande Betbeze Fox, Kathryn "Kay" Hire, and more.
During this informative and fascinating tour, curators will discuss the particular environmental, handling, and housing factors needed to prevent damage and ensure the preservation of the objects they collect, safeguard, and interpret for present and future generations of citizens.
These special 1-hour tours are free for members, $20 for ages 18+, and $15 for ages 8-17. Two time options are available for each date: 10:30am and 5:30pm. Tickets must be purchased online in advance (see link below). NO WALK-UP TICKETS WILL BE SOLD.
