A. Lee Edwards is a Southern songwriter whose music echoes the plainspoken poetry of John Prine and the raw honesty of Townes Van Zandt. Over the past three decades, he’s built a quiet legacy of songs that cut deep without pretense—grounded in lived experience, heartbreak, and hard-earned perspective.

His latest release, Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. I (Feb 2025), strips things back to the essentials: thoughtful lyrics, understated arrangements, and a voice that sounds like it’s seen some things. It’s a natural evolution for an artist who’s spent years on the road and just as many off it, writing songs that find meaning in the small moments.
