Noël Coward's "Present Laughter"

Sierra Stages and Sierra Theatre Company present this brilliant, classic comedy by Noël Coward for 4 weekends only from July 10 - August 2. Performances are Thursday (July 10 & July 31), Friday & Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.

In 1930's London, Garry Essendine is one of the world's most famous stage actors. His life is in constant chaos as he insists on being the center of attention among his friends and fans. As he prepares for an overseas tour to Africa, Garry juggles a series of unwanted visitors to his London flat - an ambitious debutante, an aspiring playwright, and an acquaintance determined to have a secret affair. Mayhem and hilarity ensue.

"Present Laughter" is not as well known as other Coward comedies - "Private Lives", "Blithe Spirit", "Hay Fever" - but it is very much in the spirit of those plays with sophisticated characters, witty dialogue and light farce.
