Felice x Wehrmuehle: Meet The Artist Brunch with Vân Anh Trần
In collaboration between Felice and Offsite by Wehrmuehle, a new format unfolding at the intersection of hospitality and artistic practice. This first edition invites guests to a seated, sensory experience designed around a moment of encounter: between host and guest, artist and audience, food by Treats Berlin and dialogue. The aim is to foster resonance rather than spectacle — to create a temporary space of attention, connection, and reflection.
Featuring Vân Anh Trần (b. 1989, Bến Tre, Vietnam), a Vietnamese New Zealand visual artist based in Berlin, whose layered compositions speak to memory, identity, and cultural transformation. Drawing from both personal narratives and shared histories, her work weaves traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics, creating meditative surfaces that reflect the poetics and tensions of diasporic experience. Join us for an intimate conversation between the artist, Offsite curator Lan Linh Merli-Nguyen Hoai and the guests, the talk offers a space to delve into Trần’s artistic practice, reflecting on her material choice, recurring themes, and the emotional worlds embedded in her paintings.
Felice is a Berlin-based cultural project originally rooted in pop-up gallery formats and artist activations — Meet the Artist emerges as a curated brunch series, foregrounding emerging voices in contemporary art within intimate, shared spaces. The format departs from conventional exhibition-making by prioritizing presence over presentation. Through conversation, shared meals, and direct exchange with the invited artist, guests are encouraged to engage beyond the visual surface and become part of the narrative.
Offsite is a curatorial platform dedicated to transforming vacant spaces into temporary sites for contemporary art and collective experience. At its core is a new project space Artist House, on Brunnenstraße in Berlin-Mitte, hosting artist studios, reading and sound listening sessions, and intimate public programs. Emerging from the broader vision of Wehrmuehle –an independent art institution and annual exhibition platform in Biesenthal – Offsite brings together experimental practices, transdisciplinary dialogues, and community-driven formats.
Felice and Offsite share a mutual commitment to nurturing artistic practices and cultivating new spaces of belonging — across disciplines, across generations, and across the table.
