We’ll explore the kelp forest and may encounter fish, penguins, octopus, and other fascinating marine creatures. Let Pisces Divers, based in Simon’s Town, guide you on a once-in-a-lifetime snorkelling adventure at one of Cape Town’s top kelp forest sites.

Our experience begins with a briefing at the Pisces Divers office in Simon’s Town. You’ll be introduced to the snorkelling site and learn what marine life to expect. From the shore, Windmill Beach is easily accessible. You’ll be provided with a 5mm wetsuit to keep warm, along with all necessary snorkelling gear. From there, we’ll head into the ocean with our guides to explore the wonders beneath the surface.

Please note: age restrictions apply—participants must be 16 or older, or accompanied by an adult. Windmill Beach is one of Cape Town’s most popular snorkelling spots, located in the western part of False Bay, right next to the famous Boulders Beach and its colony of South African penguins. It’s ideal for both seasoned snorkellers and those new to the experience.
The entire bay is teeming with marine life, including sea stars, urchins, and brittle stars, as well as octopus, cuttlefish, otters, seals, and of course, penguins. The site’s varied topography and rich ecology make it a fascinating place to snorkel or free dive—no matter how many times you’ve done it before.

@ Can I rent a camera on the day of the trip?
Absolutely! Capture your memories with our easy-to-use underwater cameras, available for rental on the day. They record photos or video with a single button press. Our staff will give you a quick tutorial, and we’ll provide a Micro SD memory card for you to take home.
@ What is the water temperature?
The water temperature typically ranges from 10°C to 18°C, depending on the time of year.
@ Do I need previous experience?
No previous experience is required—just a sense of adventure and a love for nature!
