Printmaking styles will include:
Silkscreen:
Screen printing is super fun and can be used to print on a wide variety of surfaces including paper and fabric. Students will learn the history of screen printing, how to prep artwork for screens, transfer artwork onto a surface, and edition prints.
Relief:
Relief printing is one of the oldest methods of artistis reproduction. the process consists of carving a printing surface in such a way that all that remains of the original surface is the design to be printed.
Intaglio:
"Intaglio" refers to forms of printmaking in which designs are incised into a material, creating recessed areas below the surface of the plate which can then be filled with ink and transferred to paper prints.
In this course, Students will get a brief overview of intaglio printmaking processes and learn to make their own drypoint prints using a provided plexiglass plate.
Immediately following this class, the ZACC will offer focused classes in each of the three styles for those who fall in love with a style annd want to jump into the next steps.
