About the event

DOG 1.0, Communication, Body Language + Behaviour
Calling all dog people!
Introducing DOG 1.0: Open Circles on Dog Communication & Relationship — a unique, conversation-based outdoors event series focused entirely on the dogs who share our lives.
First event July 13, 2025
Location: Lakefront Promenade, Lakeview/Port Credit

This is NOT your typical lecture about dog training. It’s an open space for learning, reflecting, and building real, connected relationships with dogs.

Dogs aren’t just pets — they’re deeply communicative beings with complex emotional lives. And yet, despite being so close to us, we often remain confused and frustrated by their behaviours.

That’s why I’ve launched DOG 1.0 — an interactive, welcoming series of open circles for current and future dog guardians who want to do better by their dogs. Whether you’re struggling with behaviour, navigating early puppyhood, or simply curious about body language, this space is for you.

There are an estimated 600,000 to 900,000 dogs living in the Greater Toronto Area. That means dogs are part of nearly every other household in our city — and yet many guardians are left guessing about their dogs’ emotional needs, behaviours, and stress signals.

Our goal is to gather essential knowledge about these animals and tackle the most common questions, concerns, and myths that surround the dog world. These meetings will serve as a guide for dog lovers — from the basics to the finer details — so that you can feel confident, connected, and calm in your relationship with your dog.

What you’ll learn:
how to read your dog’s body language
how to communicate in a way your dog can clearly understand
how to identify the root causes of common behavioral concerns

Beyond the content:
These open circles are a chance to talk about what’s actually hard in your day-to-day life with your dog — and to receive guidance without shame or judgment. You’ll leave with tools, perspective, and a deeper understanding of your dog’s emotional world.

My goal:
To guide you toward a deeper understanding of your dog — so you can respond with empathy, meet their needs with clarity, and build a relationship grounded in trust, not compliance. Just as importantly, these circles are here to support you — to reduce overwhelm, build confidence, and remind you that you're not alone in this process.

She specializes in decompression, anxiety, fear-based reactivity, canine communication, and relationship-first support strategies — drawing from the teachings of Turid Rugaas, Suzanne Clothier, Amber Batson, and many others. Deeply committed to ongoing learning and growth in the field of dog behavior.
She regularly attends advanced courses, international conferences, and professional seminars to ensure her work remains informed by the most current, ethical, and evidence-based practices. This continuous education reflects both her passion for the work and her dedication to providing the highest standard of support for dogs and their humans. Her work centers on giving dogs agency and helping humans become fluent in their dogs’ emotional and behavioral needs.

DOG 1.0 isn’t about obedience.
It’s about rebuilding the way we relate to dogs — through awareness, curiosity, and mutual respect.
