City of Mississauga, Governance Committee

This event is not hosted by Stephen Biss or the 4099 Opposition. This is an important City of Mississauga committee meeting that should be attended by all residents. Now that the federal and provincial elections are finished, we need to turn our attention to the next municipal elections and to public engagement in City affairs. Please note the agenda items by Charlene Haupt and Nicole Danesi. Important issues include the issue of daytime Committee meetings where working residents cannot attend, serious technical difficulties with the City's online meeting participation software and AV support (as in the Official Plan March 24 meeting disaster), lack of attention to residents' letters, the need for advance polling stations at Malls, mail-in ballots, and/or online voting, in the next municipal election, encouraging new candidates to come forward for Mayor or City Council, Developer v. Resident focus of the Mayor's Task Force and so many other fundamental public engagement issues.
