Owner of Damien Gerard Studios in Sydney, Marshall Cullen has spent decades behind the desk, on the road, and in the thick of it — mixing, managing and mentoring across the music world. From early days obsessed with Pink Floyd and fiddling with school AV gear, to mixing FOH for Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and U2 — he’s lived and breathed sound.

He’s toured with Hoodoo Gurus, Paul Kelly, Ball Park Music, Real Estate (NYC), and Sarah Blasko — to name a few — and still believes every day on the job is different and a new challenge.

Advice for the next gen? “Patience. Perseverance. Passion. And remember — it’s 80% people skills, 20% tech. Be on time. Be curious. Be ready to hustle.”
